STATEN ISLAND, NY – A little rain couldn’t stop thousands of Staten Islanders looking for some delicious grub and outdoor fun this weekend.

Thousands of residents turned out on Fridays and Saturdays for the “Food Truck Festival on Mt” on the grounds of Mount Loreto in Pleasant Plains.

The three-day food fest — which is rerun today from 12 to 8 p.m. — is organized by Catholic Charities of Staten Island in conjunction with Presenting Sponsor Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health and community partner ShopRite.

The winners of our Advance/SILive.com contest for this month’s SILive Experience event joined over 4,000 patrons in attendance for delicious local food.

Groups of sample winemakers ate from the Mount Loreto parking lot – each finding it difficult to keep up with the amazing selection.

Even with a few sporadic showers, crowds enjoyed live music performances, rides for children, and tented areas for eating and drinking throughout the day.

“It really was a perfect day,” said Ruthan Soler, another SILive Experience winner. “Thanks a lot for it.”

Tickets are $5 and are currently available at the box office online. Children 12 years and under are admitted free of charge. Parking passes for the event are also available for a $5 donation.
